In total, 8 papers were analyzed based on general characteristics such as author(s), year, country, publication source, research design, participants, and key words. Additionally, the findings were summarized based on methodological characteristics, key findings, and implications in a narrative form.

Results: The mindfulness-based programs effectively reduced nurses¡¯ negative physical and psychological responses such as burnout, stress, empathy fatigue, mental distress, depression, and anxiety while improving their overall well-being by increasing responses to internal experiences, life satisfaction, and empathy. It also provided the nurses working in challenging hospital settings with increased resilience, effective coping strategies, and appropriate self-care practices, which can positively influence their intrapersonal as well as interpersonal relationships. In particular, mindfulness-based programs were one of the effective measures to address nursing errors. Conclusion: Mindfulness-based programs can not only improve nurses¡¯ life quality but also provide patients with holistic nursing. Therefore, it is recommended that organizations implement such programs for nurses and evaluate the effects. This is expected to be influentially reflected in the nursing policy at the national level, contributing to nurses¡¯ professional development.
